    the solution to the chessbase christmas challenge no. 2 is:

    1. 0-0-0 (duh) Kxg4

    2. Rh1 (duh) Kh3

    3. Kd1! Kg2

    4. Ke1! Kxh1

    5. Kf1

    now zugzwang, so:

    5. …g6/g5

    6. hg6 e.p. h5

    7. g7 h4

    8. g8=N!

    necessary because making a queen or rook leads to unavoidable stalemate.

    8. …h3

    9. Nf6 ef6

    10. e7 f5

    11. e8=N f4 (I think you’re getting the pattern…)

    12. Nd6 cd6

    13. c7 dxc5 (d5 will be met by c8=Q d4 and Qc6 with mate on f3)
